SanaMente Healing Circles
“Our stories hold power, when told safely; they help us reclaim meaning, identity, and healing.” -Adry
Sanamente Healing Circles are peer-led, confidential, brave & grounded support spaces created for Adult Children of Immigrants. In these turbulent times, when our communities are retraumatized by systemic injustice, fear, and isolation.
Respiro: A Space to Breathe
Respiro was created as a liberation-centered alternative to traditional therapy spaces—recognizing that immigrant communities deserve that honor survival, grief, and cultural identity without pathologizing them. This is a culturally-affirming space where you don’t have to explain yourself—even in the storm of uncertain times.
Facilitated by a licensed therapist, this is not clinical therapy, nor a substitute for mental health treatment.
While this healing circle holds space for big emotions, it is not designed to hold crisis situations. If you’re in emotional distress or danger, please call 988 or go to the nearest emergency room where immediate help is available. You are not alone.

No. Sanamente Healing Circles are peer-led support spaces, not clinical therapy. While facilitated by a licensed mental health provider, this group is not a substitute for individual therapy or crisis care.
-
That’s a great question.
Group therapy is a clinical service where a licensed therapist provides structured treatment, documents clinical progress, and addresses mental health diagnoses using specific therapeutic interventions. It’s considered formal medical care and is often covered by insurance.
In contrast, peer-led support groups—like Sanamente Healing Circles—are not therapy.
While the group is facilitated by a licensed mental health professional, they are not acting as your therapist during the circle. These groups focus on shared lived experience, emotional validation, community support, and nervous system awareness, not treatment or diagnosis. There is no clinical documentation, diagnosis, or treatment planning in a peer group, and participation is not part of your medical or mental health record.
